Fueled by Faith: LA Rams DB Jalen Ramsey believes in God and himself

Jalen Ramsey: Family, Faith, and fortune
Sometimes, the value system of one person can be held up and ridiculed when judged by another. I really don’t subscribe to that practice. For whatever reason, the willingness of one person to respect another person seems to be at an all-time low. But that is simply a mirage of social media. I welcome different viewpoints because I have come to understand that my narrow experience and knowledge have kept many truths outside of my sphere of knowledge.
Ultimately, Jalen Ramsey is able to do so much on the football field because he has a family to love, care for, and to provide for. It’s just that simple. Ramsey is a Dad, first and foremost. I can respect that.
The next motivation for Jalen Ramsey is his faith. Whether you have that same relationship with God or not, this is another foundational block that has allowed Ramsey to build an elite professional football career.
In the article Faith: What Is It And Who Has It? by psychologist Jeremy E. Sherman Ph.D., MPP, the author describes faith as the force in our lives that focuses our energies much like the cylinder in a combustion engine focuses all of the exploding gasoline vapors into mechanical energy.
To succeed as an NFL defensive back, you must find some method of obtaining an unshakable faith in your ability to perform at the highest level with each opportunity. Success is not never-failing, but in rising up after each failure.
Jalen Ramsey has found the secret sauce. His incredible ability on the football field is not just a vegan diet, vitamin supplements, eight hours of undisturbed sleep each night, or drinking two gallons of water a day. He as achieved his elite status through faith. He has a strong and professed belief in God and in himself.
We all believe in something. We believed that medical science would find a way to deal with COVID-19 when it threatened the globe. Each of us has a circle of family, friends, and futures that we believe in.
As for me? I believe that Jalen Ramsey is and will continue to be one of the best defensive backs in the NFL for years to come. Most of all, I respect who he is and what he is all about. He does so much on the football field that almost no one can replicate. But he does just as much by his example. Disregard those destructive narratives that may have fueled apprehension over acquiring Ramsey. Let’s be willing to discover what this man is all about. If we can do that, perhaps our faith would become stronger as well.
