When the LA Rams chose to remain at the 104th overall pick, you had to know that the LA Rams were excited about the player(s) on the board. Would the Rams defense acquire a bookend defensive back to pair with veteran DB Jalen Ramsey? Or would the Rams settle on one of several quality edge rushers who were still on the board?

Instead, the LA Rams did what many never saw coming. The team selected a Wisconsin Badger, who just so happened to play on the offensive line. That just so happened to be the alma mater of two starters on the Rams offensive line. But we’ll discuss that in a moment.

The initial reaction on Twitter when the LA Rams selected Wisconsin lineman, Logan Bruss, was certainly positive.  The addition of Bruss to the LA Rams offensive line addresses a need along the line with the loss of Andrew Whitworth this offseason when he announced his retirement, as well as guard Austin Corbett, who signed a new deal with the Carolina Panthers.

Bruss is a very versatile offensive lineman who toggled between offensive guard and offensive tackle throughout his college career. So how did the fans react to the news?

Some were thrilled at his selection by the Rams:

Current LA Rams offensive lineman, David Edwards (along with Rob Havenstein), and former Wisconsin alumnus, took to Twitter to welcome Logan Bruss to the team.

And apparently, Edwards is a bit of a psychic as well, when he and Bruss were texting a few weeks ago.

Logan Bruss sent out a message to LA Rams fans as well.

Only the really good linemen in the league get nicknames too and Logan Bruss walks in with one already and is very fitting, given his primary asset is his ability to move people.

Only time will tell if the LA Rams retooled offensive line will be enough to protect Matthew Stafford and open holes for running back Cam Akers and company but all signs in the early going suggest the LA Rams will be just fine.

In the end, Bruss was the pick we all secretly hoped the LA Rams would make
