LA Rams draft confidence remains high

The LA Rams lost two starting offensive linemen in the offseason. While the team projected rostered players into potential starting roles, the Rams lacked a true inside offensive lineman. Wisconsin OL Logan Bruss checks that box, having extensive experience at both offensive tackle and offensive guard. But that is just one spot where the Rams have made a dent in the roster’s shopping list.

The Rams lost starters/rotational players at defensive back, outside linebacker, wide receiver, inside linebacker, and more. So one of the obvious goals of this draft is to add competition to those positions where no clearly defined starter exists. Can they do so? Well, LA Rams head coach Sean McVay seems very confident already, doesn’t he?

There are two parts to the equation: Talent and opportunity. The LA Rams roster succeeds at developing later-round rookie talent because the coaching staff invests a considerable amount of time in the coaching process throughout training camp, does not commit the young player to the football field until they are ready, and allows them to develop at their own pace.
