Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals are in the midst of a rocky off-season, with the terrible loss in the 2021 playoffs to the eventual Super Bowl Champion, LA Rams, the drama surrounding their quarterback, Kyler Murray’s relationship with the organization, and most recently the six-game suspension of star wide receiver, Deandre Hopkins for failing a drug test for performance-enhancing drugs.

All this, along with the losses of Chandler Jones, Chase Edmonds, and Christian Kirk, among others, does not bode well for the Cardinals’ 2022 season.  They were able to make some noise on Day 1 of the 2022 NFL Draft though, with a trade that brings Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to the wide receiver corps, which some speculate was simply a move in an effort to make Murray a little happier with the front office.  Murray and Brown were teammates at Oklahoma and should have immediate chemistry from day one.

The Arizona Cardinals had a less than inspiring draft as well and taking Trey McBride with their first pick of the draft, which was the 55th overall selection, left many scratching their head.  With Zack Ertz already on the roster, their number one tight end, along with Maxx Williams as well, there were other areas that needed attention.

The last two years, the Cardinals started well but fizzled down the stretch, resulting in missed opportunities, more specifically, missing out on the 2020 playoffs and last year, getting bounced early in Round 1.  Is this a make-or-break year for the Arizona Cardinals head coach, Kliff Kingsbury?  What about Kyler Murray, will he get a new deal or will he be on a new roster in 2023.  With so much drama and question marks surrounding this team, I don’t see them much better than third place in the NFC West and outside of the playoffs in 2022.
