OLB Braydon Thomas North Dakota St certainly joins the LA Rams at a position of need. While he has had a rather storied career in college football, he has plenty of intriguing qualities that suggest that with patience and coaching, he could enjoy a successful NFL career.
Perhaps the most outstanding quality about Thomas is the simple fact that he stands 6-foot-3 and weighs a hulking 260-pounds. He transferred twice, finally ending up at North Dakota State for two years. In his senior year, he put up 30 tackles, 14.5 tackles for a loss, and nine quarterback sacks in 13 games. He has the look and feel of former LA Rams DE Morgan Fox, and with the Rams in need of edge rushers, Thomas has a true shot this year.
Edge Keir Thomas out of Florida St is a massively powerful young man who surprisingly did not hear his name called out during the 2022 NFL Draft. He stands 6-foot-2 and weighs a stout 262-pounds. I hadn’t realized it initially, but Keir Thomas has ties to TE Coach Thomas Brown due to their shared history with the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Thomas could either be a defensive end or an outside linebacker for the Rams, but we’ll slot him in as an outside linebacker for the time being. His college career of six seasons resulted in 57 games, 184 tackles, 31.5 tackles for a loss, and 15 quarterback sacks. He showed improvement in each season and has shown a strong ability to set the edge and shed the blocker to make the tackle. He is still raw though and needs to learn and add additional pass rush moves to his arsenal.
