September Rams games: Schedule dates, times, predictions Weeks 2 and 3

Week 2:
Atlanta Falcons (Home)

  • Date:   Sunday, September 18
  • Time:   1:05 pm PT
  • TV:        Fox

The LA Rams remain at home to host the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2.  They are reformulated behind dual-threat quarterback Marcus Mariota. But in all honesty, Mariota feels very much like a veteran place-holder while the Falcons prepare to plummet in the standings to draft their franchise quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Now, I’m not saying that the Falcons will roll over and play dead. But they are a team that has been stripped of most of their elite talent, and they are on the road with a goal to be competitive. I just do not see the Falcons mustering much in this one. Could this be a trap game for the Rams? Perhaps. But I believe they take their defense of the NFL Championship seriously enough to remain motivated through Week 2.

Rams (2-0)

Week 3

Arizona Cardinals (Away)

  • Date:   Sunday, September 25
  • Time:   1:25 pm PT
  • TV:        Fox

The LA Rams may travel to the desert, but it’s as good of a time as any to face the Arizona Cardinals. With their best wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, still serving a six-game suspension, the Cardinals will not exactly be at full strength. Without WRs Christian Kirk or Hopkins, QB Kyler Murray will be forced to improvise. And while that may be when he is at his most dangerous, it is also when he is most susceptible to being rattled.

And the LA Rams know how to rattle the guy.

The Cardinals play their best football early in the season. But without Kirk or Hopkins, will they have enough firepower to keep pace with the LA Rams? I believe that the Rams inside linebacker duo of Bobby Wagner and Ernest Jones could have a huge game against the Cardinals’ offense.

I’m no fan of playing games in Arizona before November. But the Rams will be ready, and the Cardinals may still be trying to settle down a very unhappy Kyler Murray. If he is still unhappy before Week 3, he will be downright miserable after this game
