The Rams roster responds

What could I say? All of the above was true. His girlfriend smirked at me as if he’d just put a scolding on me that would silence me, perhaps for the rest of the day. Who was she, anyway, this cretinous waif? Who were any of these people?

Well, I paused for a moment, one more attempt to drink in all of that wonderful sand, sun, and salty air, and began to chortle a bit. Then I began my rebuttal in a calm and confident style Here, his smile collapsed like a rookie quarterback in a soft pocket, and the light faded from his eyes.

First, I pointed out that it doesn’t matter who else is on that offensive line when you have All-Pro defensive lineman Aaron Donald. Hands down, he’s wrecking the opposition even if there’s a bunch of mannequins playing alongside him. Anyone on that line next to him is gonna get more one on ones with the opposing quarterback than even your girlfriend can dream about, and I aimed my thumb nonchalantly at his companion. Anyone could play alongside 99 and have success, even you.

As for Von Miller, yes, he’s a huge loss. I give you two words to heal that wound, though: Bobby Wagner. We added the best middle linebacker in the NFL.

Hot. Let’s meet all of the LA Rams 17 undrafted rookie signings. light

But the pessimist interjected once more: Wagner’s hunger has gone, his desire. Wagner lost a yard. Look at his performance all of last year in Seattle, he didn’t want to give it his all.

Well, I retorted, the same was whispered about Von Miller before the Rams helped him to find his way back to NFL relevance. Wagner will be rejuvenated out here, back home, playing in the sunshine, for a Super Bowl-caliber team. Mark my words. Plus, now OLB Leonard Floyd is going to be freed up on the outside to rush the passer.  To emphasize the pass rush, the Rams picked up rookie Daniel Hardy at outside linebacker as well.  He may not start this year, but he will factor into the rotation.

As for our offensive line? Why fret about Joseph Noteboom now? He’s started at left tackle for 9 of the last 36 games there, and not a peep before now. We added rookie offensive lineman Logan Bruss to compete for the starting guard position. We even picked up AJ Arcuri at offensive tackle in the draft. Don’t worry about our offensive line. It might have even gotten better.
