Coaching staff

The LA Rams must endure an annual makeover to the coaching staff, and not by choice. You see, the Rams are the first stop shopping center for teams attempting to create their own level of success. Zac Taylor of the Cincinnati Bengals, Matt LeFleur of the Green Bay Packers, Bradon Staley of the LA Chargers, and now Kevin O’Connell of the Minnesota Vikings are all current NFL head coaches who were once part of Sean McVay’s staff.

There are even more coordinators and positional coaches on other NFL teams who once coached for the LA Rams. Each year, NFL teams establish their own culture by constructing their own coaches from poached members from the LA Rams staff. So how does that impact the LA Rams window in a positive manner?

Best coaches in the NFL

Flowing water stays fresh. Stagnant water does not. The constant changing of the guard helps the team to reinvent themselves each year. While facing the ritual of new coordinators each year can wear on the team’s continuity, the new coaches who are hired on to work on the LA Rams staff bring a new perspective to the team.

And based on the success of how quickly coaches are promoted off the Rams staff, the LA Rams truly do have the pick of the litter when it comes to the best and most promising football coaches in the nation.

Success does not just happen. It takes a lot of work and the Ram put in that work from the top-down and from the bottom-up. Even vital coaches who remain with the LA Rams, like former RB coach Thomas Brown and DL coach Eric Henderson, assume new and growing responsibilities to encourage personal and professional growth among all coaches. But who are they working with? It’s the way the front office restocks the roster.
