Week 14: Las Vegas Raiders-Thursday, December 8

The Las Vegas Raiders will likely be playing critical games in December. The AFC West, which could very likely be the best and toughest division in the NFL this year, will send another charter member of the old AFC to Los Angeles to face the Rams.

The Raiders have a long history with the city of LA. They played their inaugural game as a franchise against the Houston Oilers on September 11, 1960. They would return to the Coliseum from 1982 to 1984, before returning to Oakland.

Las Vegas is no longer a walk-over. They have a team who can win the West. They may be a long-shot contender for a Super Bowl, but whoever emerges from that division will do so with a lot of clout to make a championship run.

Las Vegas, baby

The Rams will also be making a December run of its own, with a tough schedule heading down the stretch. The Rams play four games that month, hosting the Seattle Seahawks just four days before they host the Raiders. After that, it’s that horrifically timed road trip to take on the Green Bay Packers in the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field before returning home to take on the Russell Wilson-powered  Denver Broncos at home.

The Raiders playing at SoFi Stadium against the LA Rams is one of those games that absolutely qualifies for ‘must-see TV’. Then again, anytime two potential playoff teams face off in December, anything can happen. The stands will be filled with screaming fans. The only question is: Will they be Las Vegas Raiders fans or LA Rams fans?
