Rematch?

Since that quite controversial NFC Championship Game, the LA Rams have not been back to New Orleans to play the Saints. You can bet that Saints fans have not forgotten, and will be ready for this one like it’s an NFL Playoff game.

Some things will definitely be different in this one, though. In fact, almost everything is different. How? Let me explain.

The more things change . . .

The New Orleans Saints have a new head coach. Long time head coach is gone. In his place is long-time defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. This time, the Saints will be led by quarterback Jameis Winston, whose 2021 NFL season ended at seven games due to a torn ACL.  Before doing so, he was having a career-high year, throwing for 1170 yards, but tossing for 14 touchdowns to just three interceptions.

For the Rams, it’s almost as though the team is completely made over. While the team is still led by head coach Sean McVay, practically the entire coaching staff has been swapped out for new coaches. Matthew Stafford will be leading the team at quarterback, and he will be throwing to WRs Cooper Kupp (out in the NFC Championship vs. Saints), Allen Robinson, and Van Jefferson.

The Rams’ defense is almost entirely made over as well. While the team is still led by All-Pro defensive lineman Aaron Donald, the defense has added two new All-Pro players. DB Jalen Ramsey leads the secondary, while ILB Bobby Wagner will lead the linebacking corps.
