New QB

For the Seattle Seahawks to not just re-establish relevance in the NFC West but in the National Football League as a whole, they need a quarterback. Not just a first-year clipboard holder, but someone who will compete and win a starting job.

Easier said than done. However, the saving grace is that the 2023 NFL Draft will have some very good options, versus what they saw last time around.

Will Levis, the starting quarterback for the Kentucky Wildcats is their guy.

Levis has all the measurables. At 6-foot-3 tall and weighing in at 232-pounds, he will likely have the durability a rookie quarterback will need to hold up over a full NFL season.

Seattle’s future? Tomorrow

Comparisons being what they are, some analysts have said he reminds them of Josh Allen, the starter for the Buffalo Bills, and Week-1 opponent for the LA Rams.

Allen, who has enjoyed early career success, might be a good measuring stick for Levis. Prior to his career at Kentucky, he served as the starting quarterback for Penn State. From 2018 to 2020, he served as Sean Clifford’s backup.

He made his first career start against Rutgers in 2019, completing eight of 14 passes for 81 yards with one touchdown and one interception with 108 rushing yards.

Overall with the Nittany Lions, he would complete 61 of 102 passes for 644 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also rushed for 473 yards and six touchdowns.

Sometimes the answers are obvious. In the case of Will Levis, the Seattle Seahawks should not overthink what would be a wise selection.
