The LA Rams are falling fast to injuries. It is only two weeks into the season, but the team has lost their second offensive lineman, this time promising young OL Tremayne Anchrum Jr., to a season-ending leg injury. Joining him in injury is veteran defensive back Troy Hill, who reportedly suffered a serious groin injury, in Week 2.
In response, the LA Rams personnel department sprang into action once more. The team moved two starters off the active roster, two players off the practice squad, one player off the practice squad moved one player from the practice squad to the active roster, and signed a new player to the practice squad. Got all that? It may be easier to read the Tweet from the team:
LA Rams Transactions:
— Los Angeles Rams (@RamsNFL) September 20, 2022
• Reserve/Injured T Tremayne Anchrum Jr., DB Troy Hill
• Signed G Oday Aboushi to Active Roster
• Signed to Practice Squad DE Zach VanValkenburg
• Terminated (by Club) from Practice Squad LS Matt Overton
• Waived/Injury Settlement DB Daniel Isom
As a result, the Rams have vacated one spot remaining on the active roster, and one spot on the practice squad.
Right now, the team currently has OLB Daniel Hardy, RB Kyren Williams, and now DB Troy Hill who are expected to return to the active roster at some point this season on the Injured reserve list, The Rams are also holding out hope on inside linebacker Travin Howard, who remains in the PUP/IR list following surgery to his core muscle group.
#Rams LB Travin Howard, who landed on the PUP list with a groin injury, is scheduled to have core muscle surgery from noted sports hernia guru Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia early this week, sources say. Based on the timing, he has a solid chance to be ready for the season.

The team also has RB Trey Ragas on the practice squad.
Even if any of the players were ready to return this week, which they are not, the rules to the designation to the IR, PUP or NFI lists require a minimum of four weeks off the formal roster before returning.
So the two roster openings beg the question, who will the Rams add to fill their roster spots? We will be monitoring the situation, but expect that the Rams will look to fill their roster needs rather quickly.
The team is already entering its third week of the 2022 NFL season, and player injuries are occurring at an ever faster pace.
