The NFC West Division is bunched up right now. With wins to both the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks, a victory by the LA Rams will give the Rams an early lead in the division. Not only will the Rams take a 3-1 record into Week 5, but the Rams will rise to 2-0 in divisional games, which gives them the pole position for any future tiebreakers needed to sort out NFC Playoff berths.

The San Francisco 49ers have their own interests in mind though. A win in Week 4 will not only erase all of their early season struggles from everyone’s mind, but even at 2-2, they will be 2-0 in the NFC West Division, and will themselves be privy to the high ground if and when tiebreakers are necessary to determine playoff seeding.

The 49ers are undefeated at home this season, and winless on the road. Unfortunately for the Rams, this game is at San Francisco.
