The LA Rams are facing a new challenge practically every week, and that is beyond the fact that the team’s injuries continue to pile up. This week, the LA Rams struggling passing offense faces one of the NFL’s best passing defenses in the Dallas Cowboys. To make matters worse, the LA Rams will not have the benefit of OC/RG Coleman Shelton this week, who will be out an estimated four to six weeks with a high ankle sprain.
Of course, the Cowboys are struggling a bit on offense as well. But their struggles coincide with the loss of starting quarterback Dak Prescott. But even as they have struggled, their offense has been getting steadily better, while the Rams continue to struggle.
The Rams need this win. Losing in Week 5 would sink the Rams below for the second time this season, and curiously for the second time in LA Rams HC Sean McVay’s career.
The Cowboys have a powerful one-two punch in their running game in the form of RB Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard. While the Rams have been effective at stuffing the run this year, they will surely see plenty of running plays in this one.
Meanwhile the opposite holds true for the Rams. While the Cowboys’ defense has been considerably more vulnerable to running plays, look for the Rams to focus on passing the ball once more. If the Rams can establish their running game, this could be a huge day for RB Darrell Henderson Jr., whose dash to the outside is the perfect counterpunch to defeat the Cowboys’ love of getting after quarterbacks.

After losing their season opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cowboys are in a bit of a groove, currently in the midst of a three-game winning streak. So far this season, the Cowboys have never allowed an opponent to score 20 or more points against them. Their offense, meanwhile, has improved each week. The Cowboys scored 3, 20, 23, and finally 25 points, respectively.
The Rams love to pass but to win this one I fear that the team will need to run the football behind the power of just-added RB Malcolm Brown. That may not thrill fans, but until the team’s running becomes a viable threat, opponents will simply focus on defending WR Cooper Kupp.

Recommended Bets:
I’m not sure I follow the oddsmakers on this one. The Rams appear to be struggling, and the Cowboys are getting better each week. The Rams only pass, and the Cowboys are one of the best passing defenses. Worst of all, the LA Rams offensive line is in tatters, and the Cowboys’ defensive front is applying the most quarterback pressure in the NFL.
Once more, I advise you to steer clear of this one. I don’t like this scenario, as the Rams are not a strong team right now and as home favorites may be in for their third loss of the young season. But if you must make a bet, here are my very tepid takes:
Take the Cowboys with the points (+5.5, -110) to cover
Take the Rams on the Money Line (-250) to win
Take the Under at 47.5 (-110) in this one

Whether or not you place a bet, you will undoubtedly be in for a thriller in this one It’s an early game, but it has significant meaning to the NFC West Division and to the NFC Playoff picture overall.

Weather Conditions
The weather at SoFi Stadium for this one is a great day for football. The temperature at kickoff will hover on or about 75 degrees with cloudy skies and light winds out of the West/Southwest. Temperatures will fall ever so slightly to 72 degrees by the time the final score is posted, so sunscreen and short-sleeved shirts are a wise choice
