The LA Rams are still in the hunt

While the Rams tried and failed to acquire RB McCaffrey from the Panthers, some may have been discouraged. But that news has confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that the LA Rams are very much seeking any and all avenues to improve this roster for the 2022 NFL season.

When the question about the team pondering additional roster acquisitions was posed to LA Rams head coach Sean McVay, he gave the following answer:

But he ended his response with a huge grin, the type of smirk that someone who is bursting to share a pleasant secret gives as they fight the urge to share the news. What news might that be? Which position might the LA Rams be looking at?

Rams getting healthy, but may want . . . more?

The LA Rams are certainly getting a significant share of the team’s roster designated to return from IR. How quickly can the Rams get those players off IR and coached up in time to compete? That’s a great question. Due to the need of the team to match the San Francisco 49ers in Game 7, the LA Rams have plenty of incentive to get RB Kyren Williams, WR Van Jefferson, and OC Brian Allen into this game.

The presser gets interesting at the 6:50 through the 9:00 mark when Coach McVay discusses the team’s approach to the upcoming NFL Trade Deadline.

But the team sought help at running back, and there is no reason to believe that the team’s inability to see a trade with the Panthers through to fruition has somehow taken the Rams out of the RB market.
