The LA Rams (3-5) continue to play below .500 for much of the 2022 NFL season, a position that head coach Sean McVay is unfamiliar with throughout his short but stellar career at the helm of the Rams. Diagnosing what is wrong with the Rams is happening everywhere, and like a village of blind folks, we all seem to have strong opinions about our own views.

But the solution to so many elements that have been injured, battered, and broken along the way has eluded everyone so far. This team continues to lose, now having lost two consecutive games. With each loss, dim hopes to compete in the NFL playoffs fade.

But if there is a team that could help the Rams remember how to win, it’s the Arizona Cardinals (3-6). The Rams have dominated the Cardinals over the years as often as the San Francisco 49ers have dominated the LA Rams. Right now, the Rams need every advantage to somehow snap this downward spiral.

But there are reasons to hope. The LA Rams welcome back right guard Coleman Shelton, rookie running back Kyren Williams, and rookie defensive back Quentin Lake. For a new wrinkle, the team has elevated tight end, Jared Pinkney, from the practice squad. With Shelton’s return, the Rams’ offensive line is back to full strength on the right side, but what of the left side?

The Rams had some success with OT Ty Nsekhe at left tackle already, and OL Chandler Brewer played well as well. Of course, OL Bobby Evans is a natural offensive tackle, and he could prove to be an option on the blind side as well. For the left guard position, the Rams could start Brewer, Evans, IOL Oday Aboushi, or even IOL Matt Skura.

The Rams may be starting QB John Wolford in this one, while the Cardinals may start backup QB Colt McCoy.

LA Rams Injury Report vs Cardinals Week 10

Rams

  • LB Jacob Hummel (Hip) – Out
  • DT Greg Gaines (Elbow) – Doubtful
  • OT Alaric Jackson (Knee) – Doubtful
  • OC Brian Allen (Knee) – Questionable
  • DB Robert Rochell (Illness) – Questionable
  • QB Matthew Stafford (Concussion) – Questionable

Cardinals

  • OL Max Garcia (Shoulder) – Out
  • OL Rodney Hudson (Knee) – Out
  • S Budda Baker (Ankle) – Questionable
  • WR Greg Dortch (Groin) – Questionable
  • OL Cody Ford (Illness) – Questionable
  • DB Bryan Murphy Jr (Back) – Questionable
  • QB Kyler Murray (Hamstring) – Questionable
  • LB Dennis Gardeck (Ankle) – Questionable
  • OL DJ Humpries (Back) – Questionable
  • CB Christian Matthew (Hamstring) – Questionable
  • K Matt Prater (Hip, Illness) – Questionable

Despite their 3-6 start to the 2022 NFL season, and their injury report, the Arizona Cardinals will be plenty motivated in this one, if merely to snap the Rams’ ability to dominate this series. If Kyler Murray does not start, the Cardinals lose nothing with playing QB Colt McCoy, who appeared in seven contests in 2021 and helped the Cards to a 5-2 record. In three starts, the Cardinals played to a 2-1 record.

The Rams will counter with an offense that will try to be more mobile, and still features WR Cooper Kupp as their most effective offensive weapon   He will line up with WR Allen Robinson, Ben Skowronek, Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell, and even Brandon Powell.  The Rams may emphasize their ground game with the return of rookie RB Kyren Williams, Darrell Henderson Jr., and Cam Akers.

As far as their passing offense, the Cardinals will focus on WR D’Andre Hopkins and tight end Zach Ertz. However, you cannot overlook the Cardinals rushing attack, particularly if McCoy is under center.

Recommended Bets:

Could this be the game where the Rams win? The Rams continue to play so inconsistently, so there is no true confidence factor. Like so many other contests, this game could go either way, and that negates any reason to put down a wager. But if you must make a bet, here are my very tepid takes:

Take the Rams to cover in this one  (-3.0, -110)
Take the Rams on the Moneyline to win (-155)
Take the over at 38.5 (-110) in this one
National broadcast: 1:25 pm PT on CBS Sports

Whether or not you place a bet, you will want to follow the results of this one. If the Rams win, they climb back to 4-5 and could be in a position to rally. The Seattle Seahawks (6-4) have alreadly lost, and the San Francisco 49ers (4-4) have a tough draw this week in facing the LA Chargers (5-3).
