The LA Rams’ injuries are piling up, to a point that has been unheard of since the Rams hired head coach Sean McVay to take over this team in 2017. Of course, so many injuries have decimated the Rams roster, a team that is all but eliminated from any postseason competition early in the 2022 NFL season.
The Rams’ injuries had focused primarily on offensive linemen, but in recent weeks the injuries have spread throughout the roster. While the Rams have adjusted by adding players to the active roster to compensate, their 16+1 roster practice squad has been whittled down to just 10+1 players as of Week 13. And of course, we haven’t included all of the players who were injured earlier in the season who have since been reinstated to the active Rams roster.
Of course, all of this takes place against the background of the Rams and their 2023 NFL Draft. For that, we have already pivoted from today’s questions and begun to look at the possible Rams roster additions for next year. So we are now walking two tracks, today and tomorrow. That’s a bit unusual for a Rams team coached by HC Sean McVay, isn’t it?

The LA Rams may be beaten up pretty badly, but of the 13 players currently on IR, 10 will likely be back and healthy for the 2023 NFL season. Unlike the injury to WR Odell Beckham Jr. in the first half of Super Bowl LVI, the Rams current injuries happened early enough in the 2022 NFL season to give players plenty of time to rest, recover, and rehab for next year.
