The LA Rams have not had much success in recent weeks, and in the process have failed to find much reason to celebrate and make merry. Unless you are Rams defensive back Jalen Ramsey, who had the opportunity to engage in a photo opportunity with Kim Kardashian and Saint West, the second child of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

Hey, a football player giving out a photo opportunity to his fans is always a special thing, and particularly heartwarming when it all gets intermingled during the holiday season. But this is not the same thing as a celebrity working their fame into a private picture session with a member of the LA Rams football team, is it? And it’s a particularly poor reflection after a close but hard-fought loss.

Hey, I’m not trying to judge here. But why risk poor optics after a game? And why do so with a member of the Kardashians, a self-promoting entourage who have not always developed the best of ties or relationships with professional athletes?

Did LA Rams Jalen Ramsey do anything wrong? Of course not. Professional athletes often socialize and even extend favors to celebrities, and the Kardashians are well-established from their years of being featured on the Keeping up with the Kardashians television series.

But this was a particularly poorly timed event. The LA Rams have now lost six straight games, and are all but eliminated from any postseason competition. The Rams roster has been besieged by injuries all season, so rampantly so that the team started their 12th offensive line configuration in 12 games. Holidays or not, not all of the fans will see this time spent by one of the star players on this occasion as generous and touching.

It’s your call. Touching holiday memory and generosity? Or was this a mistimed photo opportunity for Rams DB Jalen Ramsey?
