ICYMI, 5 significant LA Rams FA adds who the team should bring back

Free Agent I: Offensive left tackle
Why have I placed OT Ty Nsekhe as the top free-agent signing? Well, let’s examine some facts. He was signed off the street, has filled in for the team in multiple offensive line roles, and has played the vital offensive left tackle role since Alaric Jackson was injured in Week 9. And all the while, this guy has done an outstanding job.
Admittedly, I agree that he is not a long-term solution at left tackle. But he is an ideal option for depth, particularly if the Rams are interested in drafting a franchise left tackle in the 2023 NFL Draft. Let’s break down just how well he has played for the Rams this season.
He has played in nine NFL seasons and played for the Saint Louis Rams in 2012. Over his career, he has played for four different NFL teams. This season, he has appeared in eight games and started in six of them. Standing 6-foot-8 and weighing 325 pounds, Nsekhe looks the part of an NFL left tackle.
One tough offensive tackle
All told, Neskhe has played 326 offensive snaps for the Rams and allowed just two sacks while committing six penalties. For his effort, Pro Football Focus has graded him an impressive 71.8 for the 2022 NFL season. Keep in mind that this is an offensive lineman who never had a training camp with the Rams, is playing the toughest position on the offensive line, and even while he sat out on Week 12 with a high ankle sprain.
This guy is as tough as nails, and while he is just turned 37, the Rams have had success with venerable sage offensive tackles in recent years.
There you have it. Five players who were added this season who I hope the team will bring back next season. Well, four, because Larrell Murchison is already slated to return. In the end, you can fret about the lack of draft picks. But if you look over this list and then consider how the Rams have continued to build their roster from the least likely of places, you may come to the same conclusion that I have:
The Rams roster remains well stocked with talented players because the Rams free agency signings during the season have been very effective.
