I - Tagged players

The LA Rams chose not to apply either a franchise or transition tag to any NFL player in 2025.

II - On the Trade Block

  • WR Cooper Kupp | Released - The Rams would love to trade Kupp, but it looks more and more likely that he will be released before he is due to be paid a $7.5 million roster bonus on March 17, 2025. Stay tuned.
  • IOL Jonah Jackson | Traded - The LA Rams traded veteran IOL Jonah Jackson to the Chicago Bears in exchange for a Round 6 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The news means that C Beaux Limmer and LG Steve Avila will almost certainly return to their starting roles on the offensive line for the team in 2025

III - New free agent signings

The LA Rams did not enjoy overwhelming success from free agents signed to open the 2024 NFL Free Agency market, the team is unlikely to balk at jumping into the deep end of the pool this year. The Rams have already traded away two free agents added in 2024: DB Tre'Davious White and IOL Jonah Jackson. The team did seem to find success with DBs Darious Williams and Kamren Curl.

Who will the Rams sign in 2025? Stay tuned . . .

(1) - WR Davante Adams | 2-years, $44 million

While he is 32 years old, three-time All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams was expected to attract a lot of interest from a host of NFL teams in the 2025 NFL Free Agency market. But he is out before tha market opened for business. If you are confused by that, we've already supplied the explanation.

Repots of Adams signing with the Rams is still only hours old, and I've yet to settle in how I ultimately feel about his addition. He is clearly an accomplished and elite NFL wide receiver. And I will leave it at that, as I will pull both pros and cons together in a future article. For now, suffice it to say that Davante Adams is joining the Rams offense:

The introduction of Adams will ensure that the team will not need to reach or overpay to trade up for a talented wide receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft. The consensus right now is that the draft is blessed with approximately five to ten players who are worthy of a Round 1 pick investment. Once they have been selected, many draft analysts believe the talent drops substantially to the next level. Starting-caliber rookies then run from the bottom two-thirds of Round 1 thround the early part of Day 3 of the draft.

Rather than hope the Rams can find wide receiver talent in the draft, the team enters the 2025 NFL Free Agency market with a formidable offensive lineup (yes, Adam Schefter misspelled Puka Nacua. It happens):

With this as the base offense, the Rams have nearly limitless to aim at whatever free agent or rookie prospect who appears to be a solid bargain for the price of investment. And the team still has TE Colby Parkinson, WR Jordan Whittington, and RB Blake Corum to add to the offensive mix to alter the formations and personnel packages.

The Rams are off to a solid start.

(2) - DT Poona Ford | 3-year deal for $27.6 million
