VI - Unsigned Free Agents

The Rams currently project more than a dozen players (16 at the time this article was initially published) to hit the 2025 NFL Free Agency market.

(6a) - RFA

RB Ronnie Rivers

While the Rams did not lock in either restricted free agent with a qualifying tender offer, that is not unusual for this team. The Rams shy away from overpaying, and neither Jake Hummel or Ronnie Rivesrs is expected to have much interest from other NFL teams. For that matter, I don't know that the Rams will have much interest either.

From the list above, the Rams are getting hit hard at a limited number of positions. Those positions include the defensive line, inside linebacker, offensive tackle, and wide receiver. Right now, the team is not desperate at any position. The team would like to secure a young quarterback to learn from veteran Matthew Stafford, to land a talented tight end, and to ensure that the team's run defense is bolstered.

Those interests could be met by trade, free agency, or the draft.

VII - What we're hearing so far

Rams may not get OLB Michael Hoecht back for cheap. At least, not if the current NFL rumors being reported about the Jets' interest in the young and versatile defender are true:

Hoecht is a talented player who is underappreciated. He is a plug-and-play defender all across the Rams defensive front.

Another NFL rumor that is getting more buzz is the link of Rams WR Cooper Kupp to the Jacksonvill Jaguars. With new HC Liam Coen at the helm, he would love to lock down his locker room with a veteran Cooper Kupp to aid in coaching the wide receivers in a Rams-inspired offensive play book.
