The Los Angeles Rams pulled off a close 23-22 win in Saturday’s preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers, but it wasn’t a great day for everyone in a Rams uniform. While these exhibitions games don’t count, they matter for roster evaluation. With the roster having to be cut down to 53 players after the third and final preseason game, each snap is important for players on the roster bubble.

Unfortunately, the Rams had a handful of guys who didn't make the most of their opportunities on Saturday. After the lackluster performances, their time could be coming to an end with Los Angeles. Here are three guys who might’ve lost their roster spot in the second week of the preseason.

Cam Lampkin had a rough outing against Chargers

Cam Lampkin is in his second season as a cornerback for the Rams after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent last season. As an undrafted rookie, Lampkin was waived but re-signed to the practice squad, and eventually made his way to the active roster playing in four games. After his performance on Saturday, he could be looking at a similar path.

The second-year corner recorded four tackles in the game, but he appeared to be getting picked on, as he gave up multiple big caches. After his impressive interception in Week 1 of the preseason, Lampkin found himself on the other end of things, and he could be waived as a result of it.

Derion Kendrick hasn’t capitalized in Rams’ preseason

Derion Kendrick has been in Los Angeles since being drafted by the team in the sixth round of the 2022 Draft. In his first two seasons, he started 18 games of the 32 he appeared in, but an ACL injury took his entire 2024 season away from him. Now healthy, he’s fighting to reclaim his spot in the Rams’ secondary.

Unfortunately, Kendrick is a few spots down the depth chart, and he hasn’t really done anything to stand out. In a crowded secondary, the veteran corner could ultimately be the odd man out.

Keir Thomas could be a cut candidate for Rams

Keir Thomas has been with the team since 2022 when he was signed as an undrafted free agent. However, the linebacker’s journey has consisted of being waived and re-signed to the practice squad, while also appearing in 17 regular season games over three years.

After an underwhelming preseason, that could be his fate in 2025 as well. Thomas hasn’t flashed yet, and recorded just one tackle in the game against the Chargers. With the Rams having a pretty good defensive front, Thomas could be headed to waivers.
