WR Cooper Kupp
It may strain the imagination to expect veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp to have a huge game in Week 13, particularly in the face of his performance in eight games in the offense so far. Kupp has hauled in 55 of 77 passes in eight games and seven starts this season for 548 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
His longest reception this year was a 69-yard TD reception against the New England Patriots.
While he has been instrumental for the team after the BYE, he has the potential to set his season-high performance against the Saints in Week 13. He is one of the NFL's top slot receivers, and the New Orleans Saints are one of the NFL's worst defenses against slot receivers:
The offense doesn't need 200+ yards out of Kupp in Week 13. But 120+ receiving yards would go a long way to ensure a victory, and Cooper Kupp has that in him.
Earlier in the season, I had hoped that the team would mete out the work of key contributors to ensure that they would be fresh enough to contribute in the postseason. But the team has squandered the opportunity to save some of the best for later. The team is truly painted into a corner now, and must harness every player's best to scrape and claw its way to the NFL Playoffs.
There are other players who could certainly step up in Week 13 to lead the Rams to a road victory. And I hope that they do. But the three players named in this list are optimally positioned to be the heroes of Week 13.
As always, thanks for reading.
