4 bold predictions for Rams in Week 11 against the Patriots
By Bret Stuter
The LA Rams need a win in Week 11, and must travel to the opposite corner of the nation to seek it. It's a tough task to play in a time zone that is three hours earlier than the Pacific Coast, and that is only the first of many conditions that stand opposed to the Rams this week. After all, the NFL is a self-proclaimed game of inches, and the inches are as figurative as literal.
A bad spot of the football here. An ill-fated penalty flag there. Suddenly, the NFL contest that seemed quite winnable ends up in the loss column. And that is what is at risk any week and every week that the Rams step foot onto the football field.
Can the Rams find the secret sauce between what is comfortable and effective in Week 11? They are neither mutually exclusive nor necessarily similar tactics. We know from Week 10 that the Rams appear to be uncomfortable using two tight ends in their offensive configuration, but that the team is most effective whenever doing so.
Likewise, we know that the team drafted rookie RB Blake Corum early in the 2024 NFL Draft, fully intending to play him as a second running back of a one-two punch to keep the offense going. But that intent has been lost along the way. Either Corum is not yet ready for that role, the Rams are not playing effectively enough to allow the offense to downshift into a ground-based offense, or the coaches have balked.
