The LA Rams need another win. You might think that this is a message that has been spouting far too frequently this season. But after losing four of the first five games, this team will not be out of the woods of a disappointing season until they win eight games, while losing no more than five games. So, in that context, this team needs to win in Week 10.

That won't be easy. The Miami Dolphins (2-6) are back. They have boasted an awesome defense this season and welcomed back injured starting QB Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins' offense operates at a much higher level with him in the pocket. That means that the 'Phins are much better than their 2-6 record.

But these Rams are better than 4-4 right now as well.

And so, the team, riding a wave of success, has another test of their dedication and fortitude. Can a young team that is only starting to realize their true potential face the challenge of a desperate opponent that knows that one more loss ends their postseason hopes?

The Rams not only can, they will, and here's how:

(4) - Rams pass rush sets the tone with 4+ quarterback sacks

The Miami Dolphins offense has allowed just 20 quarterback sacks in eight games. That is just 2.5 QB sacks per game. The Rams have 12 quarterback sacks since the Week 6 BYE, and are coming off a dominating 7.0 QB sack performance in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Something has to give.

Conservatively, you might be tempted to expect the Rams pass rush to wane after several games of ever-increasing productivity. But I see that reaction as premature. This defense is not led by one guy, who becomes vulnerable to an offensive coordinator who can plan to stop that lone star. The 2024 Rams pass rush has five players on the defensive front with 3.0 or more quarterback sacks. Plan to neutralize one player, and the other four overwhelm the offensive line.

The young defenders are not only starting to figure out the NFL. They are learning to key off one another. The Rams defensive front is not perfect, but it continues to improve with each passing game. They are rock solid right now.
