The Los Angeles Rams were once linked to former Green Bay Packers veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers. At the time, it was clear that the Rams had already made the decision to move on from young quarterback Jared Goff and were exploring all their options. And those options, per the reported NFL rumors at the time, had the Rams landing Rodgers.

The Rams chose to negotiate a trade that would send Jared Goff and three draft picks to the Detroit Lions for veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford. Stafford would, in turn, lead the Rams to a victory in Super Bowl LVI. So it was well worth the effort to add him to the team.

Still, Rams fans never got to witness QB Aaron Rodgers throwing to Cooper Kupp, and never will. Rodgers just agreed to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kupp was released and opted to sign with the Seattle Seahawks. But that is not the end of the story, yet.

As fate would have it, the Seattle Seahawks travel to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. That will be the first game for Aaron Rodgers to play before the Steelers fans, and it is certainly going to be rocking throughout the contest.

While the Rams will not face the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025, Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp certainly will.

The Steelers are an enigma in 2025. Despite lackluster quarterback play in 2024, they finished with a record of 10-7. This year, they traded top-tier wide receiver George Pickens, but boast wide receivers Robert Woods and D.K. Metcalf.

While it's hard to cheer against Cooper Kupp, the fact that he plays for the Seahawks in Pittsburgh against the Steelers is bound to lure some Rams fans to wave their Terrible Towels and cheer for the Steelers. The game is a tough matchup for the Seahawks, with kickoff slated to go at 10:00 am PT.

The Seahawks open the season against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1, and then must travel to face the Steelers in Week 2. If early-season projections hold, the Seattle Seahawks could open the season 0-2.

Meanwhile, the Rams host the Houston Texans in Week 1 before heading out to face the Tennessee Titans in Week 2. By the same token, Rams fans hope the team jumps out to a 2-0 start to the season.

NFL fans will never see Aaron Rodgers throw to Cooper Kupp. But they will see the two compete in Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season. For now, that will have to suffice.

As always, thanks for reading.
