Well, it appears taht the Los Angeles Rams are the flagship of the NFL, for the 2026 NFL season at least. With the official release of the 2026 Rams schedule, the team is poised to make history with the first ever NFL game played in Australia. And the team has one of the most travelled, and difficult, schedules an NFL team has ever faces in the history of professional football.

But that has created compelling sports programming for the right Los Angeles television station. And CBS LA is sharp enough to recognize this historic opportunity. The same TV network that partnered with the team in 2016 to welcome the Rams back to Los Angeles, California, has repartnered with the team for more coverage in 2026.

The timing is absolutely superb for Rams fans. Even as the team sets its sights on Super Bowl LXI, the Rams roster is building up a stockpile of talented rookies and second-year players who are preparing to step up quickly as the situation demands it. And while they may not take center stage in 2026, they are sure to offer compelling narratives to the new CBS LA - LA Rams partnership for the foreseeable future.

CBS LA is going to turn up the volume for Rams fans

As announced in a press release, CBS LA has ambitious plans to showcase the Rams through a number of programming options and venues, including televised coverage of all preseason games. It just so happens that rookie quarterback Ty Simpson is expected to see plenty of action in the preseason.

"The agreement brings exclusive local broadcasts of Rams preseason games to CBS LA, along with a slate of weekly year‑round programming, including a coaches show featuring head coach Sean McVay and original Rams content available exclusively across CBS LA platforms...

In addition to game coverage and weekly shows, the partnership also establishes a joint year‑round collaboration focused on community initiatives serving Southern California.

Hey, the stories for 2026 are already worthy of national headlines. MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford is returning for his 18th NFL season. A Rams roster that faces nearly two dozen expiring contracts. An offense that boasts nearly as many tight ends as wide receivers is certainly newsworthy. And the smallest draft class in the team's history must carve out roles on the team.

This is unquestionably one of the most exciting periods in the Rams franchise's history. And CBS LA jumped on the train just as it's about to pull away from the station. Well played, CBS LA. Well played.

Los Angeles fans have been begging for more robust local beat reporter coverage. Much of the heavy lifting has been performed by loosely affiliated websites, national sports media (with local beat coverage), or the team's own programming. Now, fans will have one more option to hear from head coach Sean McVay, general manager Les Snead, and an NFL roster packed with enthralling personalities.

The Rams enjoy an intelligent and passionate fanbase. With this partnership, the #Ramily will be even more informed and passionate.

As always, thanks for reading.;
