Cooper Kupp already being recruited to another team after recent 'uncertain' comments

He's certainly wanted elsewhere.

The NFC Divisional Round saw the L.A. Rams knocked out of the postseason in heartbreaking fashion. It was not an easy loss to accept, for many reasons.

But, now that the offseason has started in L.A., reality is setting in.

After the Rams' loss to the Eagles this past weekend, wide receiver Cooper Kupp almost immediately began fielding questions about his future with the team. This past season, prior to the trade deadline, fans will remember his name coming up plenty of times in rumors.

It appears that conversation is still not over with, because Kupp was forced to answer a question about where his career is taking him in the coming months and whether that will be with the Rams. While he's going to continue playing, Kupp is not sure he'll be with the Rams:

“That's out of my control. And we will see what it's going to be….So yeah, obviously would love to be in L.A., but I don't know what that's going to look like," he said.

After Kupp's comments about his uncertain future, it did not take long for other teams to notice. One particular player chimed in on social media in an attempt to recruit Kupp.

Kendrick Bourne wants Cooper Kupp to come to New England

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne took his shot.

"Come to NE @CooperKupp we’ll take care of u lol all the targets!" Bourne wrote, as he tagged the Rams wideout.

Kupp's contract now allows the Rams to get out of it this year, if they so choose, and they'd save roughly $7 million by cutting him.

Of course, they could still pursue a trade and attempt to get something back for his services. If the Rams were going to part ways, that would seem like the most logical outcome for Les Snead; to get draft capital in return rather than cutting him clean.

The Patriots do seem like an obvious destination for Kupp if the Rams were to move on, that's for sure. They have their franchise quarterback in Drake Maye, but do not have an offensive line in front of him, nor does that offense have a true no. 1 wide receiver.

Why would the Rams get rid of Kupp at this point? It would strictly be based on health concerns. I don't see money being the big issue. When healthy, Kupp is still a phenomenal talent. But, health has of course been a big concern for the veteran.

Kupp has missed five games each of the last two seasons and, before that, missed eight games in 2022. He simply hasn't been able to say on the field, which is a sad reality the Rams might have to accept.
