While the duo of Davante Adams and Matthew Stafford will be exciting for Los Angeles Rams to see in 2025, the most exciting thing about the Rams might be the talented young defensive line taking things to another level. In 2024, led by Jared Verse, Los Angeles’ defensive line proved to be a force much quicker than anyone thought they would. Now, the unit is ready to outdo itself.
Last season, Verse was the only one of the group to make the Pro Bowl. NFL.com’s Kevin Patra thinks that could change this year. In a recent piece, looking at one player from each NFC team who could make their first Pro Bowl, Patra highlighted defensive lineman Braden Fiske for the Rams.
Braden Fisk predicted to make first Pro Bowl in 2025
Fiske attended Florida State with Verse, and was drafted by the Rams a round later in the same draft class. He also burst onto the scene last season for Los Angeles, but he didn’t make the Pro Bowl. Fiske started eight of the 17 games he appeared in, recording 8.5 sacks and 44 tackles with 10 for a loss.
While those numbers were impressive, Patra explains why they’ll likely be improved upon.
"Seemingly every report out of Rams camp this summer has touched on Fiske standing out in a crowded defensive front. The focus most of the offseason had rightly been on Jared Verse, a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, but Fiske deserves some love. Last season, Fiske generated 44 pressures and 8.5 sacks -- not too shabby for a rookie DT. His 10.9% QB pressure rate ranked ninth among all defensive tackles last season. While big men rarely walk from college to the Pro Bowl, we do generally see sizeable leaps from the truly elite after a full offseason in the NFL."Kevin Patra (NFL.com)
This seems to be the assessment everyone has for Fiske. If anything is going to stop him from having a significant production boost, it’s the fact that he’ll be playing on a defensive line with Verse, Byron Young, Kobie Turner, and Poona Ford. That group should lead the Rams defense to a special season.
