Dolphins IR and injuries

Injuries play a huge factor at this point in the season. The depth chart is vital. Not only must all NFL teams rely upon backups to contribute, but hopefully the team's front office has positioned the best depth players in positions that now must rely on that depth to continue success.

The Miami Dolphins have struggled this season because the team simply did not have adequate talent on the roster to back up starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Here is the Dolphins injury report and IR roster for Week 10.

Dolphins Injuries

  • OT Austin Jackson - Knee - Out
  • DB Jevon Holland - Hand/Knee - Questionable
  • FB Alec Ingold- Calf - Questionable
  • DB Patrick McMorris - Calf - Questionable
  • WR River Cracraft - Shoulder - Questionable
  • WR Tyreek Hill - Wrist - Questionable

Dolphins Reserve Injured (IR)

  • WR Braxton Berrios
  • LB Can Brown
  • WR River Cracraft
  • WR Grant Dubose
  • QB Tyler Hunter
  • DB Patrick McMorris
  • LB Grayson Murphy
  • LB Jaelen Phillips
  • WR Anthony Schwartz
  • OT Kion Smith
  • WR Tahj Washington

The week's big story is the status of Dolphins starting wide receiver Tyreek Hill. He has been fighting off a wrist injury all week and is questionable for the game. While I suspect that he can suit up for this game, playing may not be the wisest decision. Wrists are notoriously vulnerable joints for wide receivers, and competing in Week 10 opens him up to reinjury or even making his wrist severely injured for the rest of the season.

But the Dolphins cannot rely upon Tyreek Hill to make their offense go. The Rams know that the Dolphins bring a balanced offense to every game, and must be prepared to shut down both the run and the pass.
