The Los Angeles Rams entered Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft with the fewest rookie prospects selected, boasting just two selections in two days and three rounds. But, have no fear, Rams fans. The Rams boast six picks on Day 3. Those picks are concentrated in Round 6, a round that may yield another elite player in his rookie season.

The Rams roster does not have any glaring needs as the team entered the three-day draft event. However, the Rams could use an early cornerback to lead the 10 players currently in the cornerback room. And the team could use an early linebacker to claim the starting role for the Rams' defense. The team entered Day 3 without either position being addressed.

So, it appeared that the team was content to leave the team as is on those two critical defensive roles.

Updated 2025 NFL Draft Pick Summary

If you have been wondering when the Rams are going to get busy, today is the day. The Rams are set to carpet bomb the roster with four Round 6 selections. But that lightning round will happen later, for now, the Rams have one Round 4 pick to spend.

  • DAY 2 PICKS
  • Round 2 (46th overall) - TE Terrance Ferguson
  • Round 3 (90th overall) - OLB Josaiah Stewart
  • DAY 3 PICKS
  • Round 4 (117th overall) - RB Jaquez Hunter
  • Round 6 (195th overall) (via Steelers)
  • Round 6 (201st overall)
  • Round 6 (202nd overall) (via Bears (originally from Texans)
  • Round 7 (242nd overall)

How did Rams get there?

Rams sent their Round 4 (127th overall) and Round 6 (190th overall) picks to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for their Round 4 (117th overall) pick. Clearly, the Rams wanted to grab a player in Round 4, and they pounced when he came within striking range.

So what should you know about this selection?

"Authentic guy and spends a lot of time on football"

The first thing I noticed about his draft profile is that he is described by one AFC draft scout with this quote:

"Really authentic guy and spends a lot of time on football. Impossible not to love his toughness and contact production."
AFC National Scout.

Per ESPN NFL Insider Peter Schrager, Auburn RB Jarquez Hunter was the top offensive player on the Rams' draft board entering Day 3. He stands 5-foot-9 and weighs 202 pounds, so he fits the same cookie-cutter profile of the Rams' other four running backs. But you will salivate when you check out his 4.44 seconds in the 40-yard dash. That is significantly faster than any other rusher on the team.

He is an expert at gaining yards after first contact. He may be a tad limited as a receiver, but he can move the pile and dig in for the tough yards. So the Rams get a pile-mover and speedster in one package. He has excellent burst, can break off a huge gain on any play, and even brings experience from special teams as a kick returner.

Did I mention he is an explosive runner?

Jarquez is a huge steal for the Rams. Not only is he productive on the football field, but he is a hungry, passionate running back who brings an element of toughness to the team. And he brings savvy leverage to a team that just initiated tough negotiations with their featured running back, hoping to emerge with a team-friendly contract.

We'll have a lot to discuss about this pick. I love this pick.

As always, thanks for reading.
