Los Angeles Rams fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as Matthew Stafford is sticking around for the 2025 season. While some might have argued that trading him and stockpiling draft picks made sense for this team, Stafford gives the Rams a chance to not only make the playoffs but to make and win a Super Bowl as well.

While it's been three years since Stafford and the Rams won Super Bowl LVI, the former number one overall pick in the 2009 draft hasn't shown signs of slowing down. In fact, he's looking as good as he did in his early Rams seasons.

More Rams news:

Calvin Johnson, Stafford's former teammate in Detroit, appeared on Up & Adams and talked about what motivates his former quarterback. Kay Adams says if she had been Stafford, she'd probably have retired following the Super Bowl win but Stafford has stuck with the game. Johnson's answer shouldn't surprise Rams fans at all.

"[Stafford] knows that he still has it in the tank. He is seeing everything a lot clearer than he was," Johnson said. "Right now, it's just art to him."

Stafford is coming off another prolific season for the Rams, one where the team once again reached the postseason and won a playoff game. They even came close to taking down the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles in the divisional round. The Rams were very much a team that no one wanted to face in the playoffs and Stafford's play was a big part of that.

While Stafford is entering his age-37 season, he hasn't shown many signs of slowing down and Johnson's explanation of him seeing the field better than ever checks out. As long as Stafford thinks he has enough gas in the tank and continues to play at a high level, the Rams have a shot at winning another Super Bowl.
