The 12-5 Los Angeles Rams are no ordinary NFL team. This is one of the most dangerous and prolific offenses in the NFL today. Much of that scoring prowess has come in the form of a renovated wide receiver room. In 2025, the powers-that-be decided to combine sage veteran wide receiver Davante Adams with the physicality and passion of wide receiver Puka Nacua.

The results have been jaw-dropping. Despite combining to play in just 30 of 34 games, the duo has combined for 189 catches on 280 targets, 2,504 yards, and 24 touchdowns. That is as many or more touchdown receptions than 14 NFL teams' entire rosters. However, with a crucial playoff game nearing, fans want to know the status of this dynamic duo.

Puka Nacua caught six of nine passes 72 yards when LA faced Carolina in Week 13. Davante Adams caught four of five passes for 58 yards and two touchdowns in that one as well.

Veteran wide receiver Davante Adams is playing today. He had sat out the past three games due to a nagging hamstring injury. But it will all be for naught if the team must face the 8-9 Carolina Panthers without wide receiver Puka Nacua. Thankfully, Nacua will be playing in this one as well.

Puka Nacua is Matthew Stafford's favorite target

Since Adams was injured against the Detroit Lions in Week 15, the offense has leaned heavily on Puka Nacua. In the final three games of the season, Nacua has hauled in 27 of 37 passes for 348 yards and four touchdowns. That's quite a workload, but it's just par for the course for Nacua.

Nacua has averaged well over 100 yards per start this season. Of course, averaging more than 11 targets per start helps to accomplish that phenomenal feat. But fans have to wonder how long the former Brigham Young University receiver can sustain that huge share of the offense.

The hope is that with Adams' return, the team will be able to find a more balanced distribution of the football. And the bitter taste of not sticking with a running game that averaged better than 7.0 yards per carry remains in the mouths of fans since the last clash.

But even as this offense is most effective with play-action passing, the running game only truly gets juiced when the passing attack is equally effective. The Panthers secondary had a hand in making LA wary in this one, intercepting quarterback Matthew Stafford twice as well as causing s strip sack fumble that a defender recovered.

You might expect the LA Rams to emphasize the run in this one. Ah, but that won't happen with the ultra-competitive spirit in Horns. The gauntlet has been thrown, and now LA's passing game must step up to meet the challenge.

And with All-Pro wide receiver Puka Nacua on the football field, fans have every right to feel optimistic.

As always, thanks for reading.
