The Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks went through three different renditions of absolute war during the 2025 season, and Seattle's Super Bowl championship is only going to get Rams players like pass rusher Jared Verse even more upset as they try to dethrone them.
Unlike many other rivalries in the NFL, which may not have as much vitriol between the two participants in an era where many of the players have established relationships with some of their competitors inside of their division, Verse is chomping at the bit for his chance to knock the champion Seahawks off their pedestal.
In a recent podcast appearance, Verse revealed how much he genuinely is repulsed by everything Seattle does and everyone who represents that organization. His comments are not going to make him a very beloved figure in the Pacific Northwest once Seahawks fans get a hold of them.
"They're a division rival, all that good stuff. But like I genuinely don't like them," Verse said via“The Pivot” podcast. "l got like a disdain in my heart for them. Like, I hate them. I don't like the Seahawks at all...I don't like their players. There's nobody I like about their staff...Like my mom could be wearing Seahawks colors, and like that's my opp that day."
Rams EDGE Jared Verse says he "hates" Seahawks
Verse, who recorded 7.5 sacks this season and made his second Pro Bowl in as many campaigns, has reason to dislike Seattle, as he has tallied just 1.5 quarterback sacks in four career games against his hated rival.
This rivalry may define the NFC for years to come. After Seattle's defense stomped their way through the season almost unopposed by some of the best teams in the league, only Stafford and the Rams were able to provide some sort of resistance on that side of the ball.
If the Rams have enough defensive talent to slow down Sam Darnold and friends, which could be rectified with another strong NFL Draft and the retention of some of their biggest free agents, these two teams may stand out as the best in the NFC for the next handful of seasons.
In a world where it seems like genuine venom being spread between two rival teams is going the way of the dinosaur, Verse is keeping the vitriol between NFC West heavyweights alive and well. The 2026 season simply can't come soon enough after this Verse confession.
