The vibes coming out of the Los Angeles Rams' locker room ostensibly couldn't have been more somber following their gut-wrenching NFC Championship Game exit. There was a palpable sense of agony, specifically from the club's standout running back, Kyren Williams.
By the sound of it, the Rams understand they squandered an opportunity to return to the Super Bowl for the sixth time in franchise history. Williams, who was named a team captain for the first time in his career in 2025, was admittedly dispirited when addressing the media postgame. He was among several players struggling to process Los Angeles' 31-27 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Williams wore his heart on his sleeve when discussing Los Angeles' disappointing defeat against the Seahawks, delivering a message that should resonate with Rams fans.
Kyren Williams told it like it is after Rams' season-ending loss to Seahawks
Despite finishing with the NFL's top-ranked offense in scoring and boasting a top-half-of-the-league defense, things didn't always go the Rams' way this year. Like any squad, there were ups and downs, including a 3-3 stretch entering the playoffs. Yet, Williams seemingly found beauty in their struggle, which made falling to the Seahawks that much more painful.
"It sucks it has to end this way, but I am proud of every single man in this locker room for the resilience that we showed throughout the season. The season was a long season; it was not easy, and we continued to keep fighting. And I am excited for next year."Kyren Williams, Rams' official YouTube
There's no denying that Williams and the Rams were battle-tested throughout the campaign. Nevertheless, as Williams highlighted, they battled until the very end. Outcome aside, Los Angeles has every reason to hold its head up high, banding together to nearly beat the No. 1 seed Seahawks in Seattle.
It sounds like Williams is urging his Rams comrades to carry themselves similarly in 2026. The results didn't meet their lofty standards, though he apparently trusts the process. The 2023 All-Pro tailback wants to see them use their shortcomings as a learning experience and motivation to come back better than before.
Los Angeles has plenty of positive takeaways to carry into a pivotal offseason for the organization. However, there will be urgency to iron out the kinks.
