The Los Angeles Rams host the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round of the 2025 NFL Playoffs. The problem is that wildfires have been laying waste to the Los Angeles community and have been for the past 72+ hours. Fueled by dry tinder and brush, and fanned by Santa Ana winds, the flames have engulfed huge sections of the city, destroying homes and businesses, while filling the air with soot and noxious fumes.

The fires are still not contained, and they are too unpredictable to risk the catastrophe of luring thousands of fans to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California with huge question marks as to the safety of the commute to and from the stadium.

The NFL acted quickly to move the site of the Rams home game to Glendale, Arizona at State Farm Stadium. You may recognize the site, as it is the home stadium for the Arizona Cardinals. The driving distance is 383 miles, and at an estimated commute time of over six hours, all fans who plan to make the trek to cheer on the Rams should be prepared to plan accordingly. If you plan to drive, please rest before the trip, as the total time in traveling (with the game time included) can easily top 16 or more hours.

With such a burden plopped upon Rams fans with almost no lead time, Los Angeles Rams COO Kevin Demoff has been quite active on social media updating fans with additional information and developments. Here are some of the highlights:

What factors contributed to the decision to move the game (update)

The fires may or may not be contained by kickoff. Air quality may or may not be acceptable by game time. But ultimately, the decision is based on the fact that concentrating so many people in an area surrounded by wildfires comes with risks. And those risks are unnecessary.

But perhaps the greatest reason to move the game comes down to the logistics. 500+ hotel rooms were reserved for the visiting Minnesota Vikings and NFL officials. With the decision to move the game, those rooms can be made available for evacuees.

It's simply the right move

What about purchasing tickets?

Because changing the location of the game has been conducted with little advance notice, the arrangements for ticket sales have been a work in process. As expected, the Rams football team extends the opportunity to buy playoff tickets to Season Ticket Members (STM). Please note that if you explore tickets from sites like stubhub, you are paying resale ticket prices, which are rapidly inflating.

Season ticket holders have been emailed the information. If you have not gotten your email, Demoff recommends that you check your junk email folder.

Many Rams fans are buying tickets, so that's been working so far.

Will buses be available to travel to Glendale Arizona?

Because the distance is so prohibitive (more than six hours one way), there is strong interest in chartering busses to make the travel demands of attending the game a bit less taxing. And yes, Rams COO Kevin Demoff is on it:

Keep in mind that QB Matthew Stafford's wife, Kelly Stafford, is also spearheading the effort to charter at least one bus to and from State Farm Stadium. So be sure that you are aware that both Kelly Stafford AND Kevin Demoff are working to secure buses.

How many fans can buses take to attend the game?

At this time, approximately 15 buses with a capacity of handling 750 fans have been chartered. That number may grow. Rams fans should be contacted by a ticket rep with a sign up link for bus travel soon. To stay updated, please be sure to follow Kevin Demoff's social media account(s).

While 750 spots may seem like an ample number of seats, those slots with go fast. If you have friends or acquaintances, you could plan to carpool to the game. Keep in mind that the entire excursion will take up you past 3:00 am PT for the return trip, not counting stopping off to eat on the return trip.

If you do plan to make the trip, please be safe in doing so.

UPDATE: More buses?

The Rams have coordinated a fleet of buses to transport fans to Arizona. If you were not fortunate enough to secure a spot, do not give up hope just yet. the team continues to work towards chartering even more buses to make the trek.

The Rams are working overtime to accomodate as many Rams fans as possible.

Which locker room will Rams players occupy at State Farm Stadium?

To make the impact to Rams players as seamless as possible, the Rams football team has opted to occupy the visitor's locker room (as that is where Rams players normally find themselves on game day). To that end, if fans wish to cheer the players coming out of or entering their locker room tunnel, they are advised to purchase tickets in sections 113 through 115.

Of course, there are alternatives sites and sources for game tickets, so be wary of any offer to buy tickets online. I am finding many fans surprised at the lower cost of tickets for this game. But keep in mind that will only partially offsets the added costs of travel and meals to the further distance.

Details will change, be updated, and be made available throughout today and tomorrow. Be sure to confirm details, check sources, and be safe.

As always, thanks for reading.
