Perhaps some of the most entertaining part of the LA Rams off-season is surveying how different players react to the news of a signing, release, contract restructure, or any of a myriad of actions a team might perform in the offseason. I'm not sure why that is. One aspect of player reactions in the off-season is seeing a different side to players and interpersonal relations. What makes players react? Which players are plugged into the news/updates of their teammates?

While it's easy to view a player simply in the way he handles business on the football field, there are many more factors that contribute to a solid team. After all, teamwork at its purest form doesn't stop as players step off the football field. So players who remain informed over offseason events exhibit a level of esprit de corps that is most often present in championship teams.

Using that as a standard, Kevin Dotson is a seasoned veteran who showcases exactly the type of chemistry that fans want to see from the Rams roster. Why? He was glued to the updates over the Matthew Stafford saga along with all the rest of us. And it's that 'fandom' quality that endears him to the Rams fanbase:

Kevin Dotson enters his third season with the LA Rams, and sixth season in the NFL. Dotson is not just a starter, he is a player who is fun to watch because he is having fun at the game of professional football. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 321 pounds, Dotson possesses the ideal size and mindset to dominate at his position in the NFL. In 1023 offensive snaps, Pro Football Focus tagged Kevin Dotson with two penalties and three quarterback sacks in 2023.

He struggled a bit in postseason play, but that was more anomaly than alarming trend.

Admittedly, I am just as guilty as anyone of not featuring Kevin Dotson more frequently. He is a solid performer, and that is often enough to allow articles to look elsewhere in terms of players to feature. But the Rams veteran interior offensive lineman is one of the anchors of the unit, has an infectious smile and laugh off the field, and has a fierce snarl and physicality on the football field.

His reaction to Matthew Stafford returning to the Rams to compete in 2025 is pure gold. He sounds like a normal Rams fan as he describes his reactions to the Rams permitting Stafford to speak with other teams. And when news broke over Stafford returning to the team, Dotson was clearly motivated to show up with his A-Game this season as well.
