Round 6 Pick 197:

The LA Rams will not overlook the wide receiver position in the 2025 NFL Draft. and the team finds a gem in Round 6 (sound familiar?) Oklahoma WR rookie prospect Deion Burks is a swift-footed receiver who can line up in multiple spots in the offense, can bring some oomph to special teams, and gives Rams HC Sean McVay one more weapon to stockpile in his offensive arsenal.

While not quite as fast as likely-outbound WR Tutu Atwell, Burks has been clocked at 4.4-seconds in his 40-yard-dash. He may surpass that mark in the NFL Scouting Combine. Standing 5-foot-9 and tipping the scales at 190 pounds, Burks is just under the cusp of the ideal-sized wide receiver for the Rams offense.

Burks is not type-cast into one exclusive role on offense. He can be anywhere, outside, in the slot, and even in the backfield. He is immensely powerful, making Bruce Feldman's 2023 Freak List. As such, he projects well to the Rams' physical style of play at wide receiver.

Best of all, he runs precise routes, excels at deep routes with strong hands and better than expected speed, and he is outstanding at tracking the football.

Round 6 Pick 205:

We wouldn't be complete if we did not add a rookie prospect from the Fighting Irish. So let's address that with the final selection of this Rams mock draft by selecting Notre Dane rookie prospect WR Kris Mitchell. Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 180 pounds, Mitchell has the size that seems to be what the Rams front office seeks to add to the team. While a transfer in 2024, Michell was a star for Florida International in the past. In 2023, he put up 1,118 yards and six touchdowns.

While the going is not as productive in 2024, he has 13 receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns in Notre Dame's offense. And if his 4.3-second 40-yard dash time is confirmed at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, you can bet that he will hear his name called out in the 2025 NFL Draft, hopefully by the LA Rams.

Summary

  • Round 1 - Texas QB Quinn Ewers
  • Round 2 (via trade) - Arizona OT Jonah Savaiinaea
  • Round 3 - Penn State TE Tyler Warren
  • Round 3 (via trade) - Kentucky CB Maxwell Hairston

  • Round 4 - Utah ILB Lander Barton
  • Round 5 - Oregon S/LB Jeffrey Bassa

This mock draft gives the team a little bit of everything, fills in some anticipated roster depth needs, and sets up the LA Rams to enjoy success for the foreseeable future.

And as always, thanks for reading.
