What this means for the LA Rams

The Rams improve to a record of 3-4 on the season. While still not quite at .500, the team now has 10 days to prepare to face the NFC West Division leaders, the Seattle Seahawks, in Week 9. With a win in Week 9, the Rams can claim a share of the division lead. This win moves the team into a virtual tie with the San Francisco 49ers, a team that the Rams defeated earlier in the season.

In fact, until other games are played, the Rams have secured a three-way tie in the NFC Western Division, matching the records of both the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers. And not only do the Rams have some positive momentum by extending their winning streak to two games, but this victory over the Minnesota Vikings is the first win over an NFC team that is likely to remain in postseason discussions all season long.

Now, the team holds that vital head-to-head tiebreaker.

But the string of successful performances in contagious. In Week 7, a spirited rally by the defense led the team to an doom-defying victory. In Week 8, it was the offense's turn to show up in a big way. And the 30 points on the scoreboard (28 points by the offense) were the most scored by the team this season.

The team now has 10 days to rest, regroup, and set their sights on the Seattle Seahawks. While the outcome of that game is by no means certain, the performance in Week 8 by the team certainly lends a more promising outlook.
