Move over Electric Slide, Dougie Dance, and Body Roll, the Stafford Shimmy is the latest dance craze. You can thank Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, courtesy of the Week 10 win over the rival San Francisco 49ers. In a game in which the defense was a bit less robust than fans have come to expect.
But that's what makes a group of 53 professional athletes a team after all. It's the 'got your back' mindset that beholdens teammates to one another. It's that pick-me-up indebtedness that elevates what a player is willing to do, is capable of doing, on game day. Right now, the entire Rams football organization is writing IOU's to Stafford, the hero of the hour and of the 2025 NFL season.

400 touchdown passes for his career. Three consecutive games with four or more touchdown passes without an interception. Is anything impossible for this 37-year-old quarterback? If there is, the team has not discovered it yet.
It's okay, because nobody is complaining. The team is riding the wave to untold victories. Just as the schedule gets tough, the team is playing its best football.
Stafford's dance routing has his teammates in stitches
Let's step back for a moment. Football, despite the economics and big business characteristics, is still a game at its core. And Matthew Stafford is playing the game and enjoying it right now to its fullest.
It's his boyish antics on the football field that power this offense right now. Hey, winning is fun. But winning at the top of your game is ecstasy. Right now, Stafford is laughing and smiling more frequently than at any other time in his career. He is ultra-competitive. But now, perhaps for the first time in his life, he is enjoying the journey/
His right guard, Kevin Dotson, loves to see it. In fact, he laughed aloud when the Stafford Shimmy topic came up in a post-game interview.
Stafford was comical in his post-game interview, suggesting that his impulsive dance move was trying to shake off a good hit. Yeah, right.

In the end, the Rams have avenged their Week 5 loss with a dominating Week 10 win. This was more than just any victory. This was a win over the San Francisco 49ers, one of the most competitive rivals in the NFC West Division. The victory buoys Los Angeles to 7-2, while plunging San Francisco to 6-4.
LA resumes its quest for respect by hosting the 7-2 Seattle Seahawks in Week 11. But for the moment, it's victory Monday. So cut a rug and do a little Stafford Shimmy to celebrate... You deserve it.
As always, thanks for reading.
