Fans know that the NFL trade deadline is inching ever closer. Just as a reminder, it falls on Tuesday, November 10, at 1:00 pm PT. What fans do not know is what Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead will do before it arrives. And to be honest, anyone who says otherwise is either wishful thinking or spitballing.
Snead is willing to take risks. But even his damn-the-torpedoes attitude has its limits. He won't make a trade just for the sake of doing so. When he does make a trade, he has a defined goal in mind, aimed at upgrading a specific aspect of the team.
And finally, Snead is reluctant to make trades to resolve challenges that will be fixed over time with the return of injured players to the active roster.
Speculating about Snead with all the Rams' key injuries is a dangerous game. But if he were to pull the trade trigger, when might he? Well, Snead has made more than half of his trade deadline exchanges at the last moment:

That fact gives fans reason to cling to hope for a deadline addition.
Rams roster won't be transformed by one trade addition
The Rams are not a perfect team by any means. But their flaws have more to do with execution and performance than a lack of formidable talent. That makes the team a bit upgrade-resistant at the trade deadline.
New players won't fix quarterback Matthew Stafford's uptick in interceptions.
In 2021, the roster needed a boost to its pass rush and reinforcements in the receiver room. Trading for edge rusher Von Miller and signing Odell Beckham Jr. were bullseye additions, and both contributed to the Rams winning Super Bowl LVI.
Aside from receiver depth and special teams, there is no identifiable area of need for the 2026 iteration of the roster. Rather, it's an ongoing struggle to find the right game plan, stay healthy, remain disciplined, and stop turnovers. When the Rams manage to do that, they win.
Yes, LA could make a trade to bolster the roster. But with limited draft ammo and uncertainty around every corner, Snead may choose to sit this one out. The only way to truly know what the Rams will do is to wait patiently. From what we already know, Snead is more likely to spring to life at the last second if he indeed makes a move.
As always, thanks for reading.
