Rams may have struck gold with a draft class that's already delivering

Seven weeks into the 2025 season, the Los Angeles Rams' draft class is already beginning to take shape -- some names cracking the rotation, others still waiting for their moment, and one already moving on.

Here's a pick-by-pick look back at how the group has fared so far:

Round 2, Pick 46 — TE Terrence Ferguson (Oregon)

It was a slow burn early.

Ferguson was barely involved through September, working sparingly behind the veterans in head ocach Sean McVay’s offense. But he finally broke through in London in Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, hauling in his first career touchdown -- a sign that his red-zone size and soft hands are going to have a real role moving forward.

Round 3, Pick 90 — EDGE Josiah Stewart (Michigan)

Undersized but absolutely explosive, Stewart has blended right into this youth-infused Rams front.

With Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Kobie Turner, and Byron Young already flying around, Stewart has been the latest rotational sparkplug. He’s not starting, but when he’s on the field, he’s noticeable — twitchy, relentless, and impactful in spurts.

He's got 11 pressures and a pair of sacks in seven appearances.

Round 4, Pick 117 — RB Jarquez Hunter (Auburn)

No usage yet offensively, but he’s carved out a role on special teams. Physical, steady, trustworthy --the kind of early-day-three back who earns his stripes before earning touches.

Round 5, Pick 140 — DT Ty Hamilton (Ohio State)

A true rotational space-eater. Hamilton has logged snaps as part of the interior rotation, holding his own as an early-down anchor.

Not flashy, but doing the dirty work.

Round 5, Pick 172 — LB Chris (Pooh) Paul Jr (Ole Miss)

One of the early misses of the class.

Paul came into the league as a trendy pre-draft sleeper thanks to his hybrid athletic profile, but the traits never translated cleanly. He struggled to stick in camp, was waived before Week 1, and is now on the Seahawks’ practice squad.

Round 7, Pick 242 — WR Kanata Mumpfield (Pitt)

One of the best surprises of the group that I could not say enough good things about in the predraft process.

Mumpfield has suited up in all seven games and, like Ferguson, scored his first touchdown in London in Week 7.

The Pitt tape showed an elite route-runner with reliable hands and full-field versatility, and that’s already translating. With Puka Nacua sidelined in Week 7, Mumpfield stepped up without hesitation, exactly the kind of late-round receiver McVay loves.
