Mid-season 3 round Rams Mock Draft reboots offense for 2025 success

2025 Rams Mock Draft
The LA Rams traded their 2025 Round 2 pick to the Carolina Panthers to select Florida State defensive tackle Braden Fiske in the 2024 NFL Draft. So this Rams mock draft begins with the team holding three picks in the first two days of the draft. The Rams hold picks in Round 1, Round 3, and a projected compensatory pick in Round 3 due to the Atlanta Falcons hiring former DC Raheem Morris as their head coach.
As I survey the 2025 rookie draft class, I want to note several prerequisites:
- I anticipate the Rams front office will have strong interest in trading back in Round 1 if a trade offer can net the team a Round 1 plus a Round 2 pick
- I believe the Rams success at drafting in the past two years will give them the confidence to consider multiple options throughout the draft, and not fixate on one player.
- I view the Rams strongest needs in the 2025 NFL Draft as: QB, OT, and CB.
Okay, so what happens in this mock draft?
Round 1 - Trade
In this mock draft (with trades), the LA Rams agree with the Buffalo Bills to trade back. To do so, the Bills offer their Round 1 pick, a Round 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and a Round 2 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
With the LA Rams Round 1 pick, the Buffalo Bills select Mississipi OLB Princely Omanmielen. Omanmielen is considered by some draft analysts to be the top edge rusher in this draft. And as he falls to the middle of Round 1, he certainly becomes a coveted prospect for any team in need of a young pass rusher.
While the LA Rams may or may not have reason or opportunity to trade back from their Round 1 spot, my approach to these early mock drafts is simple. Unless a Top-10 rookie prospect falls to the team in Round 1, I look for any proposed trade offers that keep the team in Round 1 and add a Round 2 pick to the arsenal.
