Mid-season 3 round Rams Mock Draft reboots offense for 2025 success
By Bret Stuter
Round 3 - Oregon OT Josh Conerly Jr.
The LA Rams have a solid crop of interior offensive linemen. But with the age of right tackle Rob Havenstein, the injuries to swing tackle Joe Noteboom, and the uncertainty of young backup offensive tackles Warren McClendon and K.T. Leveston, the team would be wise to add an offensive tackle on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft. And Oregon offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. is ideally suited to the task.
Conerly is a graceful behemoth who has a natural presence as a pass blocker. He has superb footwork and balance, showcases excellent football IQ, and seldom makes mistakes. He has an insatiable appetite for blocking, often seeking a second or third defender to engage as the play develops. If you want a sound offensive tackle who can compete at either the right or left side of the football, Josh Conerly Jr. is the right choice.
Round 3 (compensatory pick) - Maryland WR Tai Felton
Capping off the Rams 2025 mock draft is their final selection in Round 3. For this choice, the front offence targets versatile Maryland wide receiver Tai Felton. Felton stands 6-foot-2, weighs 181 pounds, and instantly joins a group of talented wide receivers who are eager to earn their place in the 2025 NFL receivers list.
Felton is a route-running savant. A clean crisp route runner who is where he is supposed to be at the point in time that he is supposed to be there. He is a master of yards after the catch, leading to many big gains made by his tough running skills. And much like Rams WR Puka Nacua, he is a tough minded wide receiver who wins contested catches.
While not know for his blocking ability, nor blazing speed, he offers enough of the key components to succeed at the receiver position to include his name on the short list of worthy rookie prospects. The Rams will want to add at least one wide receiver to the roster to backfill the likely parting with WR Tutu Atwell. Felton does not duplicate Atwell's speed. But he does give the offense the likelihood of duplicating Atwell's production.
