The LA Rams are 2-4. With the state of the NFC West Division, the NFL Playoffs are still a realistic possibility. But with the team losing all three games against NFC North Division opponents. the only realistic scenario remaining for the team to earn a berth in the 2025 NFL Playoffs is to win the NFC West Division. With a divisional record of 1-1, the team needs to win at least three of the remaining four divisional games.
But the team must win in Week 8 to set up any viable playoff scenario.
Does the team have a contingency plan in place just in case? The proliferation of NFL rumors involving LA Rams WR Cooper Kupp is glowing red hot now, and that will likely be the case until the last possible moment until the 2024 NFL Trade Deadline passes. The 2024 NFL Trade Deadline is November 5, 2024. That puts increasing pressure on any team that wants to fortify their roster in time for the upcoming playoffs.
Now, the Athletic's Senior NFL Insider, Dianna Russini, has reported the NFL rumors that the LA Rams are 'definitely open to trading Cooper Kupp,' a revelation she made on the Dan Le Batard Show:
Could the Chiefs trade for Cooper Kupp?

"If the Rams are willing to take on the salary I've heard they're willing to do, they are definitely open to trading Cooper Kupp so we'll see if they'll be able to get a deal done." @DMRussini on the upcoming trade deadline.

Which team might be exploring a possible trade with the Rams for Cooper Kupp? We had discussed the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Kansas City Chiefs had all been named as teams who have an interest in trading for the former All-Pro wide receiver.
The Rams have called multiple teams about trading former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp sources tell @mikesilver, @jourdanrodrigue, and me.

The Rams have indicated a willingness to take on some of the ‘24 salary and are seeking a 2nd round pick.
Do the Rams do the deal? It seems to me that the outcome of Week 8 will play a huge factor in that decision. If the team wins in Week 8, the record improves to 3-4, and the team's chances to compete in the postseason begin to take on a more realistic feel. But if the team loses and falls to a record of 2-5, the team will likely listen to offers with some semblance of considering all options.
What is the right move? What is the right price to trigger a trade? Stay tuned, as I suppose we may learn those answers soon enough.
As always, thanks for reading.
