The Los Angeles Rams have never been ones to shy away from making a big trade. If there's a move to be made that can keep this team in Super Bowl contention, Les Snead isn't afraid to swing for the fences. What would be bigger this offseason than for this team to go all-in and acquire Maxx Crosby in a trade?
SI's Albert Breer listed the Rams as a possible team "keeping tabs" on Crosby this offseason in his latest column, and it's hard for fans to ignore the subtle hint.
"There’s also logic to the idea that it’s time for Crosby, who very badly wants to win, and the team, to move on. The Raiders will almost certainly have a rookie quarterback playing in the fall, and it could take a year or two to get the roster to where it needs to be. Would Crosby still be in his prime then? Would the Raiders be able to get the same price a year or two from now that they might bring home this week?" Breer wrote. "We should know soon enough which path the Raiders are taking, with teams like Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore, Buffalo, New England, Philadelphia and the Rams keeping tabs on his availability."
Rams appear to be "keeping tabs" on Maxx Crosby trade
To say this would be a home run of a trade for the Rams would be an understatement. Crosby is already one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL and he's not close to exiting the peak of his career.
As Breer alluded to, Crosby "wants to win," and the Rams would allow him to do just that. This team was so close to making it to the Super Bowl, and with Matthew Stafford returning for the 2026 season, they'll be the favorites to represent the NFC. Why wouldn't Crosby want a piece of that?
The Raiders could still decide to keep Crosby. After all, he's a franchise player and a fan favorite amongst Raiders Nation. But Vegas isn't anywhere close to competing in 2026, even with Fernando Mendoza joining them as the number one draft pick. Why not trade Crosby to add assets to surround Mendoza with, while also giving Crosby what he wants?
This trade would make sense for both sides. While Crosby wouldn't come cheap, he could be just what the Los Angeles Rams need to get back to the Super Bowl. Go big or go home.
