For the past few days, rumors and reports have continued to run rampant in terms of the L.A. Rams and two of their top (if not the top) players, both quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp.
In reference to Stafford, we aren't quite sure what the future holds for him. We do know he'd like to play in 2025, but there is some doubt cast around where exactly that would be. The Rams would obviously like the have him, but it all depends on whether or not they can work out a contract adjustment.
Kupp, on the other hand, is undoubtedly going to be traded. The team has already announced this much, but now it's a question of where he is going to be dealt.
One team, specifically, has seemed to make sense for a top wide receiver trade target for months now. And, in a recent interview done by FanSided's own Iain McMillan and Cody Williams, this particular destination came up thanks to NFL insider Jay Glazer.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been interested in a Cooper Kupp trade for months
"The Cooper Kupp thing was interesting because during the season I heard about Cooper maybe being on the open market," Glazer said. "I called Sean (McVay) and he goes, 'No, teams have called. Like, the Steelers called, somebody else called, but they weren't offering a lot.'"
This isn't necessarily surprising, considering the Steelers have not been quiet about their desire to add a wide receiver, dating all the way back to August of 2024 when they attempted to get in on the Brandon Aiyuk deal before he ultimately stayed in San Francisco.
Pittsburgh would make some sense, assuming they figured out their quarterback for the 2025 season. Their roster is in good shape to win right now, for the most part, but they've lacked another legitimate wide receiver opposite George Pickens.
The Steelers certainly seem like a team to keep your eyes on, if you're a Rams fan.
L.A. won't get a first-round pick for Kupp, but look out for potentially a Day 2 pick in this deal. The Steelers have no. 52 in the second round and no. 83 in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Would Rams fans be happy with one of those in exchange for Kupp?
It's only a matter of time before we find out where he's headed.
