The LA Rams could be an opportunistic team in their current situation. After all, why fret, curl up into the fetal position, when the team could simply tackle this latest challenge like the team has managed to do so successfully in the past? If you need a reminder of what I mean, the front office acted rapidly to fill in the perceived gap in the offensive line depth when the team was convinced that IOL Logan Bruss would not be ready to go in 2023.

The team identified and traded for backup IOL Kevin Dotson from the Pittsburgh Steelers. That worked out very well for the Rams after all. So, let's not panic. Rams GM Les Snead was built for this instant action type of scenario. So where, and who, might the team consider as a viable option?

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a team that has solid depth at the inside linebacker position. So while they may not be a team in the market for Ernest Jones, they could be a team that could help solve the team's search for a viable replacement if the team does manage to negotiate a suitable trade. And the front office has had success in circumstances like this in the recent past.

Former Appalachian State LB Andrew Parker Jr. has played for the Jaguars and could be a solid developmental prospect. He hails from the same alma mater as OLB Nick Hampton, so he has a connection to the team. He has gotten a solid reputation, not just on defense, but on special teams as well. He has five tackles in preseason, and is likely to be cut.

Sophomore LB Ventrell Miller could also get the boot. A stud at Florida but is the LB4 on the Jaguars depth chart. Unfortunately, his teammate Chad Muma has been surging in the preseason. Miller has recorded nine tackles over the 2024 preseason. Miller suffered a season-ending Achilles Tendon injury in 2023 and has shown significant progress in training camp and preseason. Originally drafted by the Jaguars with the 122nd overall pick in Round 4 of the 2023 NFL Draft, Miller is a young promising player who could be an ideal investment for a team seeking affordable talent at their inside linebacker spot.
