IV - OT Jamon Brown
With the 72nd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the LA Rams select offensive tackle Jamon Brown from Louisville. Brown is a 6-foot-4 340-pound behemoth who was drafted in Round 3 with the hope of contributing to the Rams' shaky offensive line. As is the case for disappointing NFL careers, an early injury played a huge role.
After starting for the LA Rams at offensive guard, and playing well, in his first nine games at least. You see, in Game 9 he was attempting to make a tackle after the Chicago Bears defense intercepted a pass. Brown was injured on the play, with a serious lower leg fracture, which ended his season.
The following year, he played in just 11 games and started five of those contests. but his lower leg injury remained a nagging problem. He finally seemed to get back on track in 2017, starting all 16 games for the Rams. But the following year he was demoted to a backup role and only saw limited playing time with 27 offensive snaps. The breaking point occurred after an arrest report was filed from an arrest made in February 2017. It sprang from a traffic stop made in February 2017, in which the arresting officer reported found marijuana on his car seat.
The NFL ultimately suspended Jamon Brown for two games in 2018, but upon his return the LA Rams offensive line was playing well and Brown simply had no role with the team. The Rams waived Brown in October 2018, With more than half a year remaining on his rookie contract. He last competed for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020.
