3 prospects the Rams can draft to make S Kamren Curl's life easier

The powers of the Q
Finally, the performance of safety Kamren Curl will ultimately depend on the quality of play at the two cornerback positions of the team's secondary. We know that safeties can augment that pass coverage, sometimes by handling the tight end or the slot receiver. Sometimes the secondary will double up a particularly dangerous receiver. But an elite cornerback, one who can shut down elite receivers, gives safeties the freedom to play center field.
I believe that Toledo DB Quinyon Mitchell has the potential to become a shut-down cornerback.
At 6-foot-0 and 195 pounds, Mitchell certainly has the size of an NFL cornerback. And with a 4.33-second 40-yard dash speed, he absolutely has the speed to stay with even the fastest NFL receivers. With the arrival of 5-foot-9 187-pound cornerback Darious Williams, and the unlikely return of former 6-foot-2 195-pound veteran cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon, the Rams secondary will need a tallish teammate to put on the football field.
While Mitchell confirmed what many though they saw in his films at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, his claim to fame began with a dominating week at the 2024 Reese Senior Bowl.
It was that ability to showcase his talents against his peers that truly punctuated his spot in the 2024 NFL Draft as one of the best pass defenders in this rookie class:
What many draft scouts love about Quinyon Mitchell is his ability to deliver no matter what the coverage. He excels in press-man, man, or zone coverage, and is more than happy to match up against the best receiver on the offense.
Mitchell is by not means at the top of his game yet. He needs some polish, and must work very hard to realize his full potential as and NFL shutdown cornerback. But if he takes the field, Kamren Curl will have the luxury of trusting Quinyon Mitchell's ability to cover that receiver wherever he may go on the football field.
